And then, finally at 5:00 PM after many rounds of "Green Day, Green Day" chants, the boys came out. Billie Joe was wearing a red shirt and black tie, Tre in some bug-eyed glasses and Mike with blond high lights in his hair. Now i'm new to this whole mosh pit thing. I've been in my fair shares at them, but this pit was unbelievably fucking brutal, I was holding on to my (very sturdy) friend for dear fucking life. Then a group of about 15 people fell doing a domino effect. Thankfully, someone picked my ass up. Then i just decided to fuck this and went out of the pit for the last two songs.
Hi. My name Is marissa. I just got back from the warped tour on june 30th. i wanted to give you this review since you mentioned it in you letter. Greenday did not start until 5:00pm on the North Stage. The Luna Chicks played right before them. There were so many people there you felt like a friggin sardine. but anyway while some guys setup every one was smoking pot and yelling greenday because they got sick of the mighty mighty bosstones. Literally as soon as greenday came out everyone started moshing. greenday played geek stink breath, welcome to paradise and a lot of other music from insomniac and dookie. they played for about 25 minutes and then everyone left. and i saw a lot of people wearing the greenday by popular demand hot wheells shirt . but all in all greenday played at its best.
ahhhhhhh the memories of my warped tour adventure in anahiem on june 30th. Besides the scorching sunburn i have the whole days was a whole f***load of fun. I stayed at the 2 stages most of the day occasionally checking out some of the skater action(not that many monster falls though) The Deviates were the first band I saw. they were ok but i was still half asleep so i wasn't really listening. Then the Suicide Machines were up. And lemme tell yah they got the crowd going and their perfect mix of ska sound and punk performance woke everyone up. There was even a guy in a wheel chair who got to crowd in a still way. After being raised the lead singer gave him a special rendition of "New Girl". Ok, now that i have finished my Suicide Machine spurt, the next band was Millicoln. They didn't look like much, but definitely kicked ass. After that, a much needed water break was taken. But for $3.50 for a f***ing bottle, it was ridiculous. Though to my cheap happiness, they were giving away free water (it was warm, but i wasn't bout to pay $3.50). So i trotted my happy little refreshed punk ass back to the stages and witnessed the atrocity that was the Donnas. Lemme tell yah, it was a sad day for "punk rock" girls. They sucked. But hey at least the Luna Chicks were better. Scary makeup and a thong loving singer. If not trippy music, why not be a trip to look at? Good Riddance was okay, nothing really new, but tha circle that was forming was fun to watch. I didn't see the Bosstones cause i was waiting for Green Day, 3rd row baby. I've been in my fair shares at them, but this pit was unbelievably f***ing brutal, I was holding on to my (very sturdy) friend for dear f***ing life. Then a group of about 15 people fell doing a domino effect. Thankfully, someone picked my sorry ass up. Then i just decided f*** this and went out of the pit for the last two songs. Here's the song list in the best order i can remember it:
1. Welcome to Paradise
3. Hitching a Ride
4. Basket Case
5. an Op Iy song ( not good with the op ivy info )
6. When I Come Around
I took another water break while MxPx was playing. After MxPx finished Papa Roach came up. They were okay. I didn't know many of the songs, but their performance of Last Resort kicked ass at the point he's hitting himself and falling on the floor. I decided that waiting to get seats for Weezer was better than seeing NOFX (not a big fan). Maybe it was the stupid jokes or the waiting for Weezer, but their set seemed endless. Weezer came out and put on one awesome show. I sung every word and enjoyed every second. Then the Long Beach Dub All Stars took the stage and it was all mellow and little puffs of smoke keep erupting from the crowd and that smell of oregano filled the air :) The new vocalist is ok, but no Bradly, so Bud and Eric did some old. Sublime songs with out the vocals. But it was all good cause we (the crowd) knew the lyrics. Jurassic 5 was a surprise. I really enjoyed their set , it was no bull shit hip hop and 2 awesome DJs. So all in all the best of the best was:
